Bangkok Station

A restaurant review of "Bangkok Station". A Thai restaurant in Buckhead, Atlanta, Ga.

Craving one of my favorite foods–Thai, I decided to try a new place. Luckily, I found what I consider the best Thai restaurant in Atlanta, Ga.

What gives me such authority to state the latter? Well, I’ve had my share of Thai cuisine and my roommate from college years was from Thailand; while living together she introduced me to Thai food and it’s been a love of mine ever since.

Here comes Bangkok Station in Buckhead; nestled in an inconspicuous (corporate plaza) it’s easy to miss. Upon entry, there’s a different energy in the atmosphere. The aesthetic is minimal yet tastefully done; exposed ceiling, plenty of seating for intimate or group gatherings and even a private area for a good size dinner party.

The menu offering is on the lower end with the most expensive item being only  $32 so you can get an incredible meal for a minimal price.

For starters, I ordered chicken satay with peanut sauce and a petite cucumber salad. The chicken comes out on skewers and is garnished with parsley. Chicken Satay

My entree was in the “First-Class Chef’s Features Station” section of the menu. I ordered the Red Snapper, it was massive and filleted in a unique method; with the meat out cut in medium size pieces yet the full body of the fish still sat on the plate. The snapper was the highlight of my meal and a conversation starter from all the patrons in at Bangkok Station; with everyone looking in awe and one patron even saying, “I’ll order whatever that is she got!”. The snapper come lightly fried and covered in a sweet yet mild glaze, and served with sautéed spinach and mushrooms and jasmine riceimg_8634

Everything on Bangkok Station’s menu is created with skill and it’s noted in the presentations and boastfulness of flavors in every item. Reminiscent of meals in the U.K. where satisfaction in taste is of prominence; impressive for a restaurant that only opened in early 2015.

I paired the red snapper with a Lychee Martini. The lychee martini was strong and sweet– just like I like my drinks. If you’ve haven’t had one before it’s worth a try, plus you get to have the lychee fruit which is soaked in alcohol (yay!).Lychee Martini

I recommend Bangkok Station for everyday meals, dates nights and business meetings so (basically every gathering opportunity). There’s also an outdoor patio for when the weather is nice. It’ll make an impression when closing deals, has a sense of intimacy for a night out and with an affordable price point, it’s good enough for anytime you have a craving for some Thai.
